The Bear Trace

The Bear Trace

The 18-hole championship course at Cumberland Mountain State Park was the first course opened on the state-wide Bear Trace project. It was named one of the “top ten courses you can play” by GOLF Magazine, in a category of daily fee golf courses which opened in 1998.

The Jack Nicklaus design takes advantage of elevation changes as well as natural features, such as flowing streams and clustered pines. The Bear Trace is a collection of Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses at select Tennessee State Parks. There are five Bear Trace sites throughout the state of Tennessee.
